Art and Architectural Review Board (AARB)
The Code of Virginia §2.2-2400 establishes this advisory board to review the acquisition, design of buildings/structures by the Commonwealth of Virginia, and advise the Governor.

Consists of six appointed members, five appointed by the Governor.

Meets monthly on the first Friday, unless otherwise noted.

Design Build/Construction Management Review Board (DB/CM)
The Code of Virginia §2.2-2404 establishes this advisory board to review submissions by public bodies, other than the Commonwealth, the ordinances and resolutions to determine if the process for selection, evaluation, and award of a Design-Build or Construction Management (DB/CM) contract is in compliance with the Code of Virginia.

Consists of nine members appointed by the Governor

Reviews findings and develops guidelines

Makes post-evaluations of construction projects procured by DB/CM contracts entered into by public bodies other than the Commonwealth

Meets at the discretion of the Chair when inquiries or projects are presented to the board. When held, the board holds meetings on the third Thursday of the month.

Virginia Public Buildings Board
The Code of Virginia §2.2-2434; Chapter 1000 of the 2004 Acts of Assembly provides for the establishment. The Board assists and advises the Governor and Department of General Services in the preparation and maintenance of a long-range site plan at the seat of government, and with the determination of the need for the acquisition of land, buildings and improvements through purchases or construction.

three non-legislative citizen members appointed by the Governor from the public

Director of the Department of General Services serves as an ex officio member with voting privileges
Capitol Square Preservation Council
The Code of Virginia §30-193 establishes this as an advisory council for the purpose of the preservation of the Capitol Square area. “Capitol Square” is defined as the grounds, interior, and exterior of buildings in the area bounded by Bank, Governor, Broad and Ninth Streets in the City of Richmond. Also includes the exterior of all state buildings at least 50 years old and bordering the boundary streets. Does not include the interiors of the General Assembly Building, Washington Building, Jefferson Building or Governor’s Mansion.

The Code of Virginia §2.2-2614 establishes this advisory council in the executive branch of state government to operate as a nonprofit, charitable organization.
