Surplus Property Management Office

ABOUT SURPLUSFAQLOCATIONS | DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES

Federal Donation Program

The Surplus Property Management Office oversees the distribution of federal surplus property that is available at a fraction of its original cost through a service charge.

The property is received from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and other federal entities for redistribution to state and federal governments and eligible nonprofit organizations.

Property allocated to the Commonwealth is transported to one of our distribution warehouses, where it is inventoried, displayed, and made available for purchase.

Eligible buyers can screen available inventory directly through GSAaxcess. Contact our distribution centers in Richmond or Wytheville to request an access code, password, and instructions for using GSAaxcess.
