Test Description

A sample aliquot is filtered and analyzed with a High Performance Liquid Chromatograph with Post-Column Derivatization and Fluorescence Detector (HPLC/PCD/FD). Analytes are separated in the chromatograph, derivatized and detected with a post column flourescence detector.

Sample Collection

Samples are collected in duplicate in 40 ml screw cap glass vials with caps equipped with PTFE-faced silicone septa. Sample vials contain 3.2 mg sodium thiosulfate to reduce residual chlorine to chloride and 1.2 ml MCAA buffer to adjust sample pH = 3.

Storage Guidelines

The samples are stored in a refrigerator in the analytical lab area where they are kept between 0 to 6ºC until analysis.
