A soluble complex of metal cations is created and a specific dye is added to produce a color. EDTA is added until the solution turns blue.

Sample Collection

Samples are collected in polyethlene or glass containers and preserved with either nitric or sulfuric acid to pH <2.

Samples should be stored in containers made of polyethylene or glass and stored at room temperature.
