On Virginia-Observed Annual Holidays, DCLS Couriers operate on alternate schedules. Please refer to the specific holiday banner posted to the DCLS Website for details on particular adjustments.

List of Observed Annual Holidays:

• New Years Day
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• Presidents Day
• Memorial Day
• Juneteenth
• July 4 ^th Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Columbus Day / Yorktown Victory Day
• Election Day
• Veterans Day
• Day-before-Thanksgiving (half-day, close PM)
• Thanksgiving Day
• Day-after-Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Eve Day
• Christmas Day

Example of adjusted ACE Courier Schedule for a Holiday:

Evening before HOLIDAY

• Regular courier services are expected for all scheduled pickups and deliveries.

STATE HOLIDAY as required

• DCLS will perform NBS and other priority testing as required.
• Hospital/NBS Sites - routine courier service
• DEQ & VDH - no courier service
• DOC Institutions – routine courier service for sites scheduled for that day of the week
• DOC P&P - no courier service
• Wastewater – dependent on wastewater site operations and will be communicated with the sites

Evening following HOLIDAY

• Regular courier services are expected and normal operations will resume for all scheduled pickups and deliveries.

PLEASE NOTE: Special or emergency courier requests can be made by contacting the DCLS duty officer at 804-335-4617. ONLY DCLS can authorize and arrange for special or emergency courier services/runs.
