Capitol Square Construction & Renovation Projects

Through a series of rehabilitation, renovation, and restoration projects managed by the Department of General Services, the dignity and architectural integrity of many historic structures in Capitol Square and around Richmond have been preserved, ensuring the facilities’ use and appreciation by future generations. Age has taken its toll on many of these buildings, but the 18th century craftsmanship has been invigorated using 21st century tools to bring a renewed look to Capitol Square.
