The DGS Division of Purchases and Supply (DPS) is the centralized purchasing agency for materials, supplies, equipment, printing and nonprofessional services required by any state agency or institution. The division establishes long-term, non-technology statewide contracts that leverage buying power to reduce the cost of goods and services and are available to agencies, institutions and local governments for efficient purchasing. DPS statewide contracts are compliant with the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA) and legislative requirements and usable by all public bodies, which have easy access for ordering through eVA.
By using DPS statewide contracts, state agencies, institutions and local governments receive the highest quality of goods and services designed to minimize risk and cost.
Why Use DPS Contracts?
Highest quality: By using DPS statewide contracts, state agencies, institutions and local governments receive the highest quality of goods and services designed to minimize risk and cost.
Best pricing: Leveraged state buying power obtains the best prices: over $30 million in annual savings. The State Financial Warranty Clause requires vendors to give DPS the best or better of any pricing offered to any other public body in the Commonwealth.
Multiple awards: Offers buyers a variety of contracts, many with multiple vendors.
