The Art and Architectural Review Board (AARB) reviews and advises the Governor on the acquisition and design of works of art, buildings and structures on property owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
AARB meets year-round on a monthly basis and is comprised of six members, to include a designee of the Department of Historic Resources, and five citizen members appointed by the Governor. Agencies are responsible for submitting project information to AARB for its consideration. Information on submission requirements and timelines may be found below.

Submissions due two weeks prior to date of meeting by 3:00pm. Email submissions to AARB@dgs.virginia.gov
*Note: meeting agendas will be posted no later than Wednesday the week of the meeting; agencies are responsible for checking the posted agenda to confirm whether their project is on the Consent or Project agenda.

Approved Minutes from Recent Meetings

Official minutes will not be posted until they are approved by the Board at the next meeting and signed by the Director of the Department of General Services. Once signed by the Director, the draft minutes will be removed from the website and the official minutes will be posted (as indicated by the removal of the word "DRAFT"). It is the responsibility of the agency to review the official minutes for final determinations regarding their project(s).
