Public Body Procurement Workgroup

The Public Body Procurement Workgroup reviews and studies proposed changes to the Code of Virginia in the areas of non-technology goods and services, technology goods and services, construction, transportation, and professional services procurements for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Bills may be referred to the Workgroup for study via one of three methods:  

  1. The Chairs of the House Committees on Rules, General Laws, and Appropriations, as well as the Senate Committees on Rules, General Laws and Technology, and Finance and Appropriations, may refer legislation by letter to the Workgroup for study;
  2. The Chairs of the House Committees on Rules and Appropriations, as well as the Senate Committees on Rules and Finance and Appropriations, may request that the Workgroup review procurement-related proposals in advance of an upcoming legislative session to assist in obtaining a better understanding of the legislation’s potential impacts; or
  3. The General Assembly may pass a bill directing the Workgroup to study a particular topic.

Written Comments

The Workgroup invites stakeholders to submit any written comments that they would like for the Workgroup members to review in advance of upcoming meetings by emailing them to pwg@dgs.virginia.gov by at least 12:00 p.m. the day prior to the meeting.

Meeting Schedule

The Public Body Procurement Workgroup meets as needed. Notice of upcoming meetings will be posted on this website as well as on the Commonwealth Calendar. All meetings are open to the public and interested parties are encouraged to attend. Additionally, meetings can be viewed on the House of Delegates Video Streaming Page.
