AARB
The Art and Architectural Review Board (AARB) reviews and advises the Governor on the acquisition and design of works of art, buildings and structures on property owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
AARB meets year-round on a monthly basis and is comprised of seven voting members, to include a designee of the Department of Historic Resources (DHR), and six citizen members appointed by the Governor. Agencies are responsible for submitting project information to AARB for its consideration. Information on submission requirements and timelines may be found below.

Parking: There is limited public parking near the Virginia State Capitol and the Patrick Henry Building.

Security: You must show a photo identification card to security to enter the building and pass through a metal detector. All bags, packages, and material building samples must pass through the x-ray scanner.
AARB Meetings are open to the public. If you wish to attend or provide comments it is recommended, but not required, that you contact the AARB in advance by emailing aarb@dgs.virginia.gov.
Submissions are due two weeks prior to date of meeting by 3 p.m. Email submissions to AARB@dgs.virginia.gov
Upon submission, a DGS staff member will respond within 24 hours acknowledging receipt of the project submission. If you do not receive a response, please resend the project submission.
*Note: meeting agendas will be posted no later than Wednesday the week of the meeting; agencies are responsible for checking the posted agenda to confirm whether their project is on the Consent or Project agenda.

§ 2.2-3707.1. Posting of minutes for state boards and commissions.
All boards, commissions, councils, and other public bodies created in the executive branch of state government and subject to the provisions of this chapter shall post minutes of their meetings on such body's official public government website and on a central electronic calendar maintained by the Commonwealth. Draft minutes of meetings shall be posted as soon as possible but no later than 10 working days after the conclusion of the meeting. Final approved meeting minutes shall be posted within three working days of final approval of the minutes.
